Hypostatic Union (Entry Note)

9:54 a.m.
(1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) He was in the beginning with God. (3) All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.
(14) And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
—John 1:1-3, 14 NASB
How can a mere human give anyone eternal life?
(27) My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; (28) and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. (29) My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. (30) I and the Father are one.” (31) The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.
—John 10:27-31 NASB
YAHWEH SAYS IT:
(About the Hypostatic Union) Refers to how King Jesus took on a human nature. King Jesus, always called Yahweh from eternity, remained God, fully, in the incarnation. See God the Son as only God before the incarnation. Then Yahweh the Son came and took on flesh in the incarnation, taking on a human nature, yielding that human nature in tandem with being the God called I AM. Yahweh King Jesus, the God-man. The human nature was added to the divine, staying together but never mixing; they both work together, being the way to save the sinner through reconciliation. The God-man carries God blood. His blood has no sin. The incarnation made King Jesus take on a human nature, but King Jesus was able to go between both natures in His way. He could do God traits and then, in a different moment, would use the human way. But His being Yahweh never left Him. Jesus remains Yahweh, but with an added way of human nature that sits with His way.
Sample Scriptures of the way Jesus walked
Jesus heals the paralyzed man and forgives him of his sins
(1) When Jesus came back to Capernaum a few days later, it was heard that He was at home. (2) And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer space, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them. (3) And some people came, bringing to Him a man who was paralyzed, carried by four men. (4) And when they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and after digging an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralyzed man was lying. (5) And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” (6) But some of the scribes were sitting there and thinking it over in their hearts, (7) “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins except God alone?” (8) Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were thinking that way within themselves, said to them, “Why are you thinking about these things in your hearts? (9) Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk’? (10) But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralyzed man, (11) “I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet, and go home.” (12) And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
—Mark 2:1-12 NASB
Jesus wept / Jesus raises Lazarus
(33) Therefore when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled, (34) and He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” (35) Jesus wept. (36) So the Jews were saying, “See how He loved him!” (37) But some of them said, “Could this man, who opened the eyes of the man who was blind, not have also kept this man from dying?”
(38) So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. (39) Jesus said, “Remove the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days.” (40) Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (41) So they removed the stone. And Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. (42) But I knew that You always hear Me; nevertheless, because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me.” (43) And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” (44) Out came the man who had died, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
—John 11:33-44 NASB
Jesus fell asleep / Jesus rebukes the wind and the waves
(22) Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out. (23) But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. (24) They came up to Jesus and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm. (25) And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” But they were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?”
—Luke 8:22-25 NASB
Jesus is I AM
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
—Exodus 3:14 NASB (Old Testament)
(54) Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’; (55) and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you; but I do know Him, and I follow His word. (56) Your father Abraham was overjoyed that he would see My day, and he saw it and rejoiced.” (57) So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?” (58) Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.”
—John 8:54-58 NASB (New Testament)
